Human Lives Human Rights: Quds Day is an annual event that is held every year on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. For the first time, Quds Day was celebrated on 23 July 1979, on the saying of Imam Khomeini.
The main purpose of holding this ceremony is to announce the opposition of the Islamic Ummah to the occupation of the Palestinian land by the Zionist regime, and especially to the occupation of the eastern part of the city of Jerusalem, where the Al-Aqsa Mosque is located.
Another purpose of holding the Quds Day ceremony is to declare opposition to the anniversary of the establishment of the Zionist regime in May, which is known as Nakba Day in the Islamic Ummah.
Now, after forty-four years of the celebration of Quds Day, this ceremony is being held in many different countries in the world. These countries include Turkey, Indonesia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Pakistan, and even Western countries such as the United States of America, England, Germany, and Sweden are held.
In fact, the Quds Day ceremony has become a public propaganda operation to confront the Zionist occupation and bring the Palestinian people’s call of oppression to the ears of the world. What adds to the importance of such propaganda is to know that the pages of mass media, visual, audio and social in the world are generally possessed by the Zionists.
For example, we can refer to social networks such as Facebook and its subset platforms such as Instagram. Or, for example, other world media such as the British BBC and the American CNN support the Zionist regime.
Therefore, censorship and removal of news related to the occupation of Palestine by this regime is part of the working policies of these media.
But currently, the global program of Quds Day has caused a lot of pressure from the world public opinion on the Zionist regime and its supporting lobbies from Western countries such as America and England that support this regime.
For example, thousands of people participated in this year’s Quds Day held in London. Also, this year, a Palestinian photo exhibition was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
It should be noted that despite all the security measures of the Zionist regime, the pressure caused by the global celebration of Al-Quds Day caused a crowd of over 250,000 people to participate in the Friday prayers of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In general, it should be pointed out that the only way to liberate Palestine and Quds from the Zionist occupation is the strategy of active armed resistance along with public propaganda operations such as holding the International Quds Day.
This strategy has been fruitful so far and will continue to be useful in the future.
