Human Lives Human Rights: Turkey’s Anadolu Agency reported that Recep Tayyip Erdogan made this statement during his speech at a seminar hosted by the non-governmental organization “Women and Democracy” in Istanbul. He remarked that the ongoing massacres in Gaza have exposed the hollow nature of Western claims regarding moral values.
Referring to the bloody events that have occurred in Gaza over the past 18 months, he said: “All of these events and tragedies, including the recent massacres, have unveiled the falsehood of the seemingly humanitarian concepts in the West.”
Erdogan added: “Every innocent child, every newborn, and every woman who falls victim to barbarity is a serious blow to the moral superiority of the West; a superiority that has fundamentally already been called into question.”
He emphasized the need to liberate democracy from the imposed frameworks of the West, stating that this concept should be reintroduced as a guiding light for human rights and freedoms.
Erdogan also expressed skepticism towards Western slogans regarding women’s rights and urged the public to adopt a critical view of them.
In conclusion, he criticized opposition parties within Turkey, stating that their support for policies aimed at erasing gender identity is concerning; policies that even the Western world is currently reevaluating.
