Human Lives Human Rights: In its foreign policy tradition, the US government has always made efforts to create a conflict zone in the Middle East, because if there is chaos and dispute in the Middle East, it will lead to the conditions for Israel to secure itself and if there is peace and security in the Middle East, the chances of the countries of the region to unite against Israel are quite high. Therefore, the United States has to create dispute in the region by any possible means and prevent the formation of this alliance.
An American intellect, George Friedman author of the book ‘The Next 100 Years’ says: “An Islamic world in chaos, incapable of uniting, means the United States has achieved its strategic goal.”
US efforts to create chaos in the Middle East
At one point of time, we witnessed the United States showing green light to Iraq to attack Iran. And at another point, we witnessed it trapping Iraq in the quagmire of Kuwait, it then attacked the country under the coalition of the Western alliance with the help of Security Council resolution and destroyed Baghdad’s military might.
It also invaded Afghanistan under the pretext of fighting terrorism and left the country after 20 years without any concrete gains despite the actual threat from the Taliban.
It also invaded Iraq again under the pretext of combating weapons of mass destruction again, and after a while, it becomes pretty clear that this excuse has been a big lie from the very beginning.
However, another US effort to create chaos in the Middle East is to support various terrorist groups that has been going on for a long time. These include support for the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan during the 90s, support for al-Qaeda operations in Iraq after Saddam, and support for ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
Until now, the documents of US logistical support for terrorist groups such as ISIS have been repeatedly published. The kinds of weapons and the form of operations carried out by terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al-Nusra Front indicate that these groups are being trained completely under the supervision of US military forces.
It was even recently revealed that the assassination team of Jamal Khashoggi, who brutally murdered him at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, was probably trained by the American security contractors of the Blackwater Security Company — Academi. In the midst of the internal crisis in Syria and Iraq, it has been repeatedly proved that the United States has been supporting terrorists such as ISIS and Al-Nusra because instead of bombing terrorist positions, the US-led coalition targeted positions of the Liberation Army and government forces in Iraq and Syria.
This is not it, the support for terrorist groups has gone beyond that. For example, many Iraqi officials believe that even after the defeat of ISIS, which was confirmed in 2017, and the assassination of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in late 2019, yet the terrorist activity is growing significantly with the US green light and the American support for ISIS is only aimed at gaining special privileges from the Iraqi government.
A member of the Iraqi parliament says the new documents show that the presence of terrorists has increased in various border areas of Iraq and Syria with the support of the Americans.
It has also been proven time and time again that the United States is responsible for transporting terrorists and moving them from one region to another.
Al-Hawl refugee camp, located in the northern Syrian province of Al-Hasakah provides shelter to the individuals displaced from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and is the largest camp of ISIS families controlled by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The release of several groups of the families of the ISIL terrorist group from al-Hawl camp by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in recent months has raised concerns about the resurgence of terrorists on Iraq’s western and northern borders with Syria and some security experts have also been concerned about the camp’s potential to spread terrorism again.
In this regard, an Iraqi security expert said that the US military is supporting the remnants of the ISIS terrorist group in the country by providing information and intelligence drones.
Moayed al-Ali added that the recent security breaches by terrorists in Iraq are being carried out under the direct supervision of US forces; There is information that US forces use their intelligence drones to collect accurate information about the location of al-Hashd al-Shabi units and provide them to ISIL terrorist networks.
Referring to the sacrifices of Iraqi defenders in the fight against terrorism, Al Ali who spoke to Alahed News in Iraq said that it is the US presence in Iraq that helps the activities of terrorist networks.
He added: “American planes are active enough that help in the movement of ISIL terrorist leaders between Iraq and Syria, and this is a well-known issue.”
In the wake of suspicious US movements on the Syrian-Iraqi border recently, concerns have been raised about US rebuilding ISIL with the help of its regional allies prompting calls in Iraq to end the US military presence in the country.
“We have authentic information that shows US military convoys have brought 4,000 ISIS terrorists into Iraq from Syria, and that Iraqi security forces are not allowed to inspect these Iraqi military convoys,” said Iraqi security expert Sabah al-Akili.
A spokesman for Hezbollah in Iraq said that terrorist groups were being trained at US bases inside Syria, either on the Syrian-Iraqi border or on the Jordanian-Iraqi border.
One of the US military bases in Syria is al-Tanf, and there have been recent reports of Washington transferring terrorists from this base to Ain al-Asad air base in Anbar province, in western Iraq.
Mohammed al-Baldawi said in a news conference that terrorists are now focusing in areas near the Iraqi-Syrian border with Turkey and with the US support, they are planning of terrorist operations in the central areas.
He stressed that the terrorists are focused on their presence near the border with Turkey, as well as in the Al-Hawl camp in Syria, and based on the information obtained, US forces are protecting them in these areas.
Mohammed al-Baldawi, a member of the Fatah coalition in Iraqi Parliament said that those who observe the security situation in Iraq these days will surely find out that the number of terrorist operations and ISIL movements in many parts of the country has increased in comparison to the past.
Al-Baldawi continued that ISIL has focused on its presence in the northern part of the country on the Turkish border, and that many terrorists are present in Syria and in the Al-Hawl camp, which is a serious threat not only to Iraq but to the whole region.
He added that terrorists are trying to return to Iraq to carry out criminal and terrorist operations, and in the meantime, the support and protection of the Americans for them is questionable, although this action is not very surprising when it comes to Washington.
The Iraqi parliamentarian said that with such support for the terrorists, the United States intends to make a time bomb out of them in order to target the security and stability of Iraq and the countries in the region.
However, the US government’s record of supporting terrorist groups is not limited to these cases, rather the United States has proven in recent years that it is a staunch supporter of one of the most infernal terrorist groups of the twentieth century, Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK).
In recent years, the United States has removed the group from its list of terrorist groups so that it gets more freedom to carry out its activities than in the past. The MEK emigrated to Albania after the Iraqi government expelled the group. Albania is a country that is a member of NATO and the unique role of the United States in NATO is obvious to everyone. Therefore, it’s quite clear that the United States has played a key role in moving this group from Iraq to Albania.
RT wrote in an article by Caleb Maupin about the MEK and the US treatment of them that the forgotten history of a group Mujahedin-e-Khalq (MEK) being promoted in Western media shows the hypocrisy of the so-called “War on Terror.”
The Associated Press published an article entitled “Iran Dissident: Tehran Continues Nuke Arms Work” earlier in October. The piece quoted Mujahadeen-e-Khalq (MEK) members, who insist that Iran is developing nuclear weapons.
RT wrote that the claims are rather fantastic, as the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran have always declared extreme opposition to nuclear weapons, and endless inspections from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirm that Iran is not pursuing them. Iran has every right, under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, to pursue peaceful nuclear energy. These facts are largely unknown to the US public, and absent from discussion of Iran in the mainstream press.
The report goes on to point out the polite treatment of the group in the Western press. On September 17th, when the French government dropped money-laundering charges against the organization, the headlines reporting the case continued to refer to its members as “Iranian dissidents.” The articles in Bloomberg News and The Wall Street Journal contained nothing about what this “Mujahadeen-e-Khalq” organization is – or what kind of activities it has engaged in.
Referring to the background of the group, the author of this article wrote: After Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 1979, when it became clear that the MEK would not become the new ruling party, the organization responded with a vicious bombing campaign against the new government. In 1981, the group bombed a meeting of the Iranian Republican Party, killing 72 people, including many high-ranking government officials. Also, during the Iraq-Iran War in 1980s, the group became very friendly with Saddam Hussein.
RT continued in its report: Frequently, Iran is declared to be a “state sponsor of terror” by US officials and media outlets. However, it is leaders of the United States that are currently promoting the cause of the dangerous and violent MEK.
In another part of the report, it states: Occasionally, US officials will try to justify the coddling of this group of violent extremists with vague claims that it “renounced violence.” However, the group is very open about continuing its armed underground activities inside the Islamic Republic of Iran. Reports indicate that it was members of MEK, in cooperation with the Mossad that assassinated scientists working on Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program in 2012.
This is while the US press largely treats MEK like romantic pacifist “freedom fighters”.
The report concludes that the MEK is much like ISIS in Syria, or the US-backed insurgents in Libya. They are bloodthirsty extremists who would destroy Iran’s existing stability and independent economic development, replacing it with chaos, destruction, and death.
A group of senior US senators traveled to Tirana, the capital of Albania, to meet with the leader of a terrorist group MEK. Roy Blunt, the Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee led the US delegation. John Cornyn, the second-highest-ranking Republican in the Senate, and Thom Tillis, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, and Judiciary Committee, also accompanied Blunt on the trip. At the end of the meeting, the MEK terrorist group led by Maryam Rajavi issued a statement announcing that the US delegation congratulated the members of the group on the safe and successful relocation of members of the group from Camp Liberty in Iraq to Albania. For her part, Maryam Rajavi also thanked the tireless efforts of the US Senate, especially Senator Blunt, in supporting hundreds of members of the terrorist group in Iraq and their safe relocation to Albania.
