Sabiha Saifi, a 21-year-old resident of Sangam Vihar, was not only raped, but her breasts were apparently cut off, her neck was slit and her private parts were mutilated with several cut marks across her body.

According to Indian media, the victim’s family is trying to get justice from the police and other agencies, but so far no action has been taken against them.

News of the tragic incident has gone viral on social media and public demonstrations are being held in various cities of the country demanding justice for the slain Sabiha Saifi. So far no justice has been done.

Since September 4, #JusticeForRabiya has been trending on the platform with over 70k tweets. Twitterati are questioning Delhi Police, national media agencies and social welfare groups on their silence regarding the issue.

Protests also broke out on streets across the capital where people demanded justice for Rabiya. Students of Aligarh Muslim University also staged protests seeking justice for the girl and her family.

Indian Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi also condemned the alleged inaction in the case. He wrote in his tweet that a civil defence officer is brutally raped and stabbed in the country’s capital and there is a pin drop silence by the Delhi police.

Member Of Lok Sabha (MLA) Asaduddin Owaisi who is also the president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen also condemned the death of the woman and demanded the strictest punishment in the case. The case is currently under probe.

Socio-political activists from across the country have been tweeting about the issue asking the authorities to investigate further into the matter and find the real culprit behind the murder.

Meanwhile, Human Rights Human Lives believes there is much more to this murder case and those in custody must be questioned and the root cause of the matter must be found out behind this barbaric incident.
