Human Lives Human Rights: Citing several diplomats, Reuters news agency reported that the resolution proposed by the United States to remove the Islamic Republic of Iran from the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will be voted on on December 14.
Reuters wrote that the United States published the draft of this resolution on Monday, November 28. In this proposed resolution, the policies of the Islamic Republic are condemned because they are “strongly in conflict with the rights of women and girls and the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women (CSW)”.
Iran is just starting a four-year term on the commission, which meets annually every March and aims to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women.
Recently, a situation has arisen for the Islamic Republic of Iran, which every week receives an average of one resolution or decision to take an action about itself in international organizations.
In recent weeks, a new resolution censuring Iran over insufficient cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been passed by the nuclear watchdog’s board of governors urging the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide specific and transparent answers regarding the ambiguous issues of its nuclear program.
Also, the Third Committee of the United Nations Human Rights Council condemned the violation of human rights by the Islamic Republic of Iran by issuing a resolution regarding Iran’s internal protests. After that, the United Nations Human Rights Council approved the activity of the fact-finding committee regarding the human rights conditions of Iran’s internal protests in a special meeting held on November 3, regarding the human rights situation of Iran’s protests.
Finally, after several weeks of speculation regarding the expulsion of Iran from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the United States has presented a draft resolution for the expulsion of Iran from this commission, which is to be discussed at the December 14 meeting.
It can be said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is on the path of isolation more than ever and has numerous domestic and international cases, in the international forums, by casting shadows on each other, they have taken more of Tehran in their grip.
